LEARN A BETTER WAY TO RIDE
Balance, center, connection — they seem like simple concepts that anyone should be able to apply to their riding. In truth, they are the most elusive parts of our riding experience and yet also the very basis of all riding. Most horses have the ability to carry us and do what we ask of them no matter how unbalanced, uncentered, and disconnected either of us may be. But to be a better rider – and to have a happier and healthier horse – we need to realize that riding is about more than simply sitting on top of our horse and asking him/her to do things. To be that better rider, we must examine how balanced and centered we are when we are on our horse, what those actions do to our horse, and how we can correct any imbalance and uncenteredness. We need to explore how connected we are to our horses and learn how to develop “feel” of our horse. Riding is a conversation, but we can’t have a full, rich conversation if our horse is closed down and not fully engaged and/or if we aren’t listening.
Tapestry’s Balance-Center-Connect Riding Program is unique because it incorporates expert biomechanical analysis of your riding, no matter your level or experience. Biomechanical analysis allows us to have a better understanding of how your body is influencing your horse, and it allows us to give you an accurate assessment of that influence instead of just “eyeballing” it. In addition, you can have a lesson plan designed for you to help you adjust your riding so that you are balanced, centered, and connected. By working on all three of these areas, you will become a better rider and have a happier, healthier horse.

You can choose to have a biomechanical analysis performed no matter where you live in the world. If you live in the Front Range area of Colorado, you may choose to become a full participant in the Program, which means you’ll have hands-on interaction for you and your horse with the program instructors. If you live elsewhere, you can contact us to have a biomechanical analysis done with the option of a long-distance training program created just for you.
Read through the pages on this site to learn more about our philosophy, biomechanics, and how you can participate in the program. Space is very limited due to the time that is required for the thorough analyses that we provide, so be sure to contact us today, via email or phone (719-347-3090)!
