General Data Protection Regulation

If you are a natural person residing in the European Union then the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR) grants you certain rights concerning your personal data.

You have the right to only receive information from us if you have given specific consent to receive such information. At any time, you may choose to discontinue receiving information from us. To do so, email us at jo@tapestryinstitute.org or follow the instructions in any email Tapestry sends you.

Tapestry is the controller of the data you provide. You may contact the data controller at jo@tapestryinstitute.org.

Some of the data we collect may include your name, email address, physical address, phone number, and credit card information. You have the right to request access to the personally identifiable information (PII) we collect and retain. You have the right to correct or erase your personal data, and Tapestry must comply with that request without delay. You have the right to restrict the processing of your data.

Tapestry collects data for the specific, explicit, and legitimate purpose of sending you requested information concerning our programs, news items, and fundraisers. Any and all data that we collect is limited to the data necessary for those purposes and is reasonably required to enter into a contract with you. We do not keep data any longer than is necessary for the purpose it is used. If Tapestry wants to process your data for any other reason, we will tell you in advance. If we use your data for direct marketing purposes, which we don’t do but we have to tell you this anyway, you can object at any time. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority who has jurisdiction over issues regarding the General Data Protection Regulation.

All data is stored in online systems, and we do not keep paper records of your personal data. Some of the third-party systems we may use include Google Analytics, Constant Contact, and payment processors, such as PayPal.

We protect your personal data with appropriate security measures. If there is a data breach of your personal information, Tapestry will notify you of such a breach without undue delay unless the personal data would be unintelligible to whomever stole it or if the breach is unlikely to cause you harm. If notifying you personally involves a disproportionate effort, then we may provide notification by public communication.

This privacy policy may be revised from time to time. Tapestry will notify you by email with the revisions when they are published on the website.
