Tapestry Institute
  How Tapestry Works

Tapestry operates out of Indigenous worldview. We understand our mission and explain it to others using the Sacred Circle and Story. Even our website is structured along these lines.

We create accessible opportunities -- through meetings and media -- for people to learn about the natural world, and these are also structured in Indigenous worldview.
Comparing our programs to other opportunitites for people to learn about the natural world will help you understand the scope of this statement. There is nothing inherently "more right" about the way we operate, but we believe it is a powerful addition to existing ways of learning about the Earth -- one that many people long for, but can't find.

We ask program participants to temporarily transition into Indigenous worldview when they visit us, rather than assume contemporary modern worldview is a "norm" that applies in all situations. We provide support for this transition in meetings, and explain the role of worldview in the resource materials we produce (such as this website) to help users better understand and and use them.
